Just to get a few things situated before we dive into details:

‘CareerGoggles’ is actually just us. We work directly with all of our clients, and produce all client deliverables. That means you’ll never be passed off to someone junior or ‘behind-the-scenes.’ So, if you want a high-touch, highly committed and personal team of advocates, who feel like they could be (popular) members of your family because they care that much about your success and happiness, then you will love working with us.

In case you’re thinking, ‘Wow, this whole operation is just two people?! What could they possibly offer me?’ We get it - we come from corporate backgrounds, and are highly suspicious consumers, ourselves. But trust us: no one works harder or produces better (dare we say dramatic?) results, so our clients tend to think that ‘just us’ is a good thing.

We have broad-based business experience, but believe that each client is the subject matter expert in his/her field. So, we work hard to learn everything we can about you — your experience, motivations, work style, and goals — and overlay both our professional experience, as well as our expertise in professional branding, strategic communication and career advancement, to help you achieve your greatest personal and professional ambitions.

We are always your confidential advocates. So let’s go make some magic.

Kathy Hammond

Kathy leverages a broad and deep knowledge of business gained from years as a C-level executive and Board member to quickly assess each unique client's situation, background, and goals, and then works collaboratively to envision new opportunities, define compelling career strategies, and develop actionable plans.

She has helped hundreds of clients land exciting new jobs that transform their careers and increase their professional satisfaction. For clients feeling plateaued, she has helped them develop the executive skills and initiatives needed to elevate their profile and accelerate their career trajectory. For clients seeking more flexible ways of monetizing skill sets and experience capital, she has helped identify and market their talents and service offerings. Her strong background in media, marketing and communications drives the way she develops cohesive and strategic messaging campaigns that achieve these goals.

Notably, Kathy has an uncanny ability to ‘hear what's not being said,’ elevating and addressing complex corporate, political or personal dynamics that may be impacting a client's success.

Before transitioning to career consulting, Kathy developed depth in publishing, media, banking, technology, and professional services. She led organizations and high-performing teams during periods of intense change due to acquisitions, mergers, consolidations, and rapidly shifting market conditions. She developed special expertise in working with clients to transform business models outmoded by changing technologies.

As President of Hammond Incorporated, and subsequently as COO at FPG (Getty Images), Kathy led conversions from analog to digital delivery of content, and re-vitalized respected but dated brands, revolutionizing production, design, marketing and customer service. As Managing Director of Luminant NY, Kathy led the integration of five technology consulting firms. And, at the New York Times, she transformed the Classified Call Centers by realigning business processes to achieve best-in-class excellence.

Kathy has a B.A. from Cornell University, is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Mortar Board. She served as a Director of Hammond Incorporated (Executive Committee), Summit Bank, the Association of American Publishers (Executive Committee), and as a Trustee of Newark Academy. She is a talented novelist and a poet, all of which her daughter is slacking on getting published, and lives in New Jersey.

Kate DeOssie

Kate focuses on professional branding, strategic communication and career advancement, developing optimal positioning strategies for each client, and articulating them through high-quality deliverables, ranging from resumes and professional bios, to interview preparation and networking strategies.

Perhaps what most distinguishes Kate's work is her acute judgement in advising clients to navigate delicate challenges and appropriately capitalize on opportunities, with a particular ability to carefully craft nuanced and impactful communications. Kate handles a broad range of highly confidential and personal career strategy issues, from complex family dynamics to work/life balance, with utmost integrity and client focus.

Prior to founding CareerGoggles, Kate was an Analyst at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Banking Division's Strategic Relationship Management group, responsible for all inter-divisional business development efforts with the firm’s strategically important clients. She was active in recruiting, captained Community TeamWorks and was a member of the IMD Women’s Network Steering Committee.

Kate serves on the Governing Board of America Needs You New Jersey (ANY-NJ), a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase economic mobility for ambitious, low-income, first-generation college students (first in their family to go to college); on the Board of Trustees for Kent Place School, an independent, nonsectarian, college-preparatory day school in NJ, where she is a member of both the Audit Committee and Mission & Vision Committee; and as a Mentor for Brown University Women's Launch Pad, a one-to-one mentoring program for senior class women navigating the transition to professional life.

Kate earned a B.A. with Honors in Economics and a B.A. in Visual Art from Brown University, where she served as a Writing Fellow (an intensive peer writing coach), and was selected for the inaugural class of Women’s Launch Pad. She was a Business Teaching Assistant, Pembroke Scholar, Valedictorian finalist, and received Brown’s highest award in Financial Economics for her honors thesis. She lives in New Jersey with her husband, two sons, and cute-but-poorly-trained dog.

Your eyes do not deceive you…

Do we look alike? We’ve heard that before. So, we did a LOT of research, and turns out we’re a mother/daughter team!

We have a lot of fun working with each other, and with you. And, for those inevitably wondering, we have been doing this for almost a decade, and still really like each other (proof below). But fear not, we’ve been told that we still have enough ‘dynamic tension’ to keep things interesting for you.
